A very
friendly hotel in an excellent location less than a block from the Wanfujing
shopping area, 5min walk to a night food market, and a pleasent 15min stroll
to Tiananmen. The resteraunt in the hotel is so-so and overpriced but just
down the road to the east is a very nice Chinese family resteraunt with
excellent and cheap food(though the service, while friendly, requires some
patience). There are also a number of noodle and dumpling shops just across
the road and a convenience store in the hotel and one across the road. The
rooms are a bit rundown but fine for the price. Brand new water heaters in
evry room with good water pressure. Most of the rooms are doubles. Beds can
be pushed together for couples with a minimum of fuss. The cheap rooms are
all sub-ground level but have windows that open but are gated in for
security(a good place to hang wet socks). The desk staff is very friendly
and speak sufficient English. The travel agency staff speak very good
English and are also quite friendly. All in all I heartily reccomend this
hotel.
