The Plaza is located almost literally on top of on of Beijing's inner
city subway, attached to the Regent hotel, in a very up-market part of
town. Given the location, the price was quite reasonable, even though it
was the low season. It is less t han three subway stops from Tiananmen
Square/Forbidden City and a couple of stops from where the airport
express terminates, so it's very convenient to get around. Staff were
very helpful, and gave us good advice on how to reach the Summer Palace
via subway,
and they recommended a top restaurant nearby which was very good as
well. The room was quite large, and it was quiet and clean. We had free
Internet access and bottled water daily. The beds were comfortable by
Chinese standards, and the room was cleaned daily. Checking in and out
was accomplished promptly and efficiently,
and hotel is well appointed and fairly easy to locate from street level.
The location makes this hotel an excellent choice when visiting Beijing.

This was my second stay at
Park Plaza and as perfect as my last. Key points:
1) Location: Situated directly above the 2 Line subway, the only way to
efficiently move about the city; great local food - visit Sunny's directly
across from entrance or new Da Dong at Jin Bao Plaza mall; visit hutong
behind hotel for view of acient Beijing - area was historical grain storage
for Forbidden City and includes former senior residences
2) Breakfast Buffet: Completely worth the upgrade to Club level; a superb
mix of West and East
3) Club Level: Great Happy Hour and exceptional staff; free internet
4) Rooms: Clean and comfortable
5) Staff: Exceptional; arranged private car to Great Wall for less than bus
tour, provided breakfast take-away for early morning departure
