In the year 1914, the Beiyang Warlord Government set up sculptures for the
two historical figures Guan Yu and Yue Fei, and so changed the name of the
temple into Guan-Yue Temple. After the
foundation of PRC, it was once the
agency of Tibet Dalai Lama, and later was the Beijing office of People’s
government of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Today, Guan-Yue Temple has
already successfully approved as Beijing Historical Reservation Unit.

Located in the over 100 years old Gang Yue Temple, which consists of imposing
screen wall and ancient architectural group that runs from north to south. The
four traditional Chinese courtyard, two on each side of the wall and each
bearing over its gate a Chinese character Mei(Plum), JU(Chrysanthemum,
Chu(Bamboo) and Lan(Orchid) in the handwriting of noted calligrapher Pu Jie,
look more tranquil among Verdant pines and cypresses. In autumn, maidenhair
trees are yellow and persimmons fruit well, that predict good wishes with the
guests in the coming year.
