It is actually a "four-square" residential courtyard a traditional architectural form specially extant in BJG-which was originally built early in Qin dynasty.  it is a style hotel and traditional hotel in Beijing.

Beijing Tianxiang Hotel, located east side of Forbidden City north door, the north side of Wangfujing street, west side of Dongsi north street, the Hutongs name comes from a garden built in it, which passed through Qianlong Emperor and Xuantong Emperor of Qing Dynasty.

In the Hutong, the reserve construction of Beijing, consist of one main and two smaller Siheyuan with perfect structure, is one of the best Siheyuan construction in Beijing. A well-known person in Chinese history, named Wu Pei Fu, used to live here.

In 2005, Beijing Tianxiang Business Co. Ltd invest a huge fund in repairing and recovery, bring a fresh look to the old construction, and run Tianxiang Hotel on the site.

TanJiaCai Cuisine: Another very famous Beijing food besides Roast Duck. The cuisine show the influence of various regional cuisines, the most obvious being that of Canton. So among hundreds of delicious dishes, the most famous are those specialties such as braised sharks fins, steamed bears paws and steamed duck with ham, etc. The Tanjiacai cuisine also includes delicious vegetable dish as well as a variety of desserts, which have been enjoyed in Beijing for as long as one hundred years.

The Tianxiang Hotel is an quiet hotel and in the heat of Beijing. It is on a quiet back-road among the 'hutongs'. The staff was very helpful. The Standard room and Suite room are  very comfortable, large, no smoke odors. the restaurant has a wide selection. After walking in crowded Beijing it was wonderful to return to the silent and beautiful chinese garden just outside the hotel room. we will certainly recommend this hotel to friends going to China.  ---Julien From a Germany.

wow..!! this little oasis tucked away in the middle of beijing is the best kept secret in china! - simply 100 out of 100 - for our family holiday in september. i stumbled accros this hotel by accident ( on net) - it was simply awesome.. the food.. the service.. the courtyard setting...crikey, - the office manager even took us shopping personally!!
dont bother staying in a concrete highrise.. ((we did in tokyo and regretted it !!)) this is the real stuff - what better way to soak up the chinese atmosphere than to stay in a courtyard hotel that was once the home of a chinese general!!
